Basically I would like to see if you guys can help give me the value of this gun.  I don't know anything about these guns.  I am trying to find a value for one of my friends.  I took pictures of the gun and it has 5 magazines with it that are all in excellent condition.  If you need any other pictures or there are any questions I can answer to help everyone give me an accurate value please let me know.   It is an Inland of GM m1 .30 cal carbine.  The cutout in the stock where the sling goes through has "P-J" in it.  I don't know if it is supposed to be there or someone put it there.  I tried to get a picture of it but it didn't come out.  Thanks in advance for any help. Some of the pictures of the wood look a little worse just because of the flash I think.  There are some slight dings but nothing major.  I would rate the gun 80-85%.

A gun like that is hardly worth more than $5.  Since you seem like a nice guy I'll offer you $10.
It's nothing special as far as carbines go, but it looks like it should go for $500-600 depending on the local market.

(disclaimer:  I'm no expert...  Just mildly interested in M1 Carbines)

Stock cartouches?  Import marks?

If import stamped, $500 to $600.  Non import a bit more.

Appears to be a fairly typical Inland rebuild.   The most common of all carbime makes.  Stock is a bit rough but metal looks pretty good.

Non import Inlands around here will easily bring $750. If it has an import stamp on the barrel than you can expect to get between $500 and $600.

Nice M1, by the way.

What will the import stamp look like?

This is a "Blue Sky" stamp. There are others but this is the most common. There is a Blue Sky Winchester
on Guns America right now priced at $849 and an IBM going for $749. Despite the horror stories about
import guns I've yet to see a bad one. These are still genuine USGI carbines.

Blue Sky Winchester here.

IBM carbine here.

I believe the only thing on the barrel is "Inland division of General Motors"
