I've been looking at the Benelli M2 and the M4.
The M2 is inertia operated and the M4 is gas operated. Other than the M4 being the ultimate shotgun why would the gas operated action be better than the inertia operation. Easier cleaning, less recoil, less malfunctions, I don't know. Don't want to stir up a hornet's nest just need to know. Tell me. Thanks Randy |

Quoted:
Less recoil Less sensetive to ammunition Less sensetive to extra weight Harder to limp-wrist (my M4's can be fired 1-handed using target loads) The M4 also has a metal trigger group, dual "barrel hangers", and is just built more "heavy-duty" all around. This. Plus the M4 also comes with a scope mount if you want to put a red-dot or something on it. |

All of that. 3" mag on M2 = HARD KICK Yep the 3" magnums out of the M4 aren't that bad. Still a lot of recoil but FAR less compared to my friends mossberg 500 with 3" shells. I could only shoot one out of that sucker before I had to stop! Last time I shot the 3 inchers out of my M4 I shot 15, and although it was a little uncomfortable, it was quite manageable. |

I shot about 20 3" 1760fps 1oz Sluggers from my M4S90 off sandbags/bench sighting in one time. It was pretty epic. |

Yes, everyone at the range was asking me WTF!? I was shooting. Everything about it was epic. The huge dust-cloud on the 200m berm, the concussion, the recoil, everything. Was also pretty accurate. 2-3" groups at 50m. |
