So I just bought a Polish M44 that I'm planning on shooting a lot. The only problem it has is the interrupter won't move down far enough to allow a round to pop up to be chambered after I close and open the bolt. But I can manually push it down with my finger and the round pops up just fine. I've taken the gun apart and removed the interrupter, cleaned it, and reinstalled but the bolt still just isn't pushing it down far enough to pop another round up. I thought maybe there could be a problem with the bolt, so I put the bolt from my Tula 91/30 in the m44 and cycled it and it still didn't push it down far enough.

Anyone else have this problem and an easy fix? Or should I just buy a new interrupter?

Okay so here's what I think is happening after checking out how everything works

Here's the healthy interrupter without the bolt on my 91/30 Mosin:

And here it is with the bolt closed, making good contact all across the right side, pushing it down enough to pop a round up:

And here's my M44 with a good sized gap, no bolt:

And still with a small gap on the right side where it isn't making any contact:

So I removed and straightened it out a bit and reinstalled, and now it's popping rounds up like it should. But I know this isn't a permanent fix. Where could I buy a new interrupter piece?

Looks like you got it to work. From looking at the pics I think it was bent too far in and you did the right thing to fix it.

That part is made from spring steel. When the bolt is closed the interrupter gets pushed out, not down, so you need to keep all your Mosins stored with the bolt open or removed. With the bolt closed there is pressure pushing the interrupter out which will weaken the spring over time.

If you need a new one you can try Liberty Tree Collectors or just google Mosin Nagant parts, should find a few places selling them.
