| I am building an M60 SAR using the JRW blueprints and a parts kit from APEX. I found in the archives of the MG part of this forum some threads from people who made CAD drawings and talked about the various pitfalls of the build. I was wondering if anyone who posted on that thread Titled (M60-SAR Build) could post on my thread so I can contact them to pick their brains. |

| Great looking M60. I built one using the Sundance8 design over on weapons guild, I’ve had pretty good luck with it so far. I notice you have a bolt hold open lever, is that your design or did it come from somewhere else ? It looks like a great idea, I’ve been thinking of one for quite a while , just never could figure out a way to do it, yours looks quite simple, keep up the great work, Jon P |

The bolt "hold open" hook is of my own design. It is spring loaded, so that whenever the op rod is pulled back fully, it releases out of the way. I can engage the hook with my right thumb after the op rod handle is pulled back enough. It certainly is a much needed third hand. I hand checker my 1911s, so I done this also.  " />

As I am NEVER going to lug a pig, I always wanted to do a milled verse stamped build of one. But, eventually when I do, it will will be the two sides milled with rails riveted to a bottom plate, USA old school method. Love the little improvements. Very nice features. |

| Go over on weapons guild, in the belt fed category then down till you find the Sundance8 M60 , it’s a great write up, he describes everything in pretty good detail. Much simpler than the JRW design, although I’ve herd the desert ordinance / US Ordinance design might be the best ??? Good luck, Jon P |
