Does anyone know how the barrels are retained? I've always wanted one, but they were out of production by the time I was old enough to buy one. I've never seen or touched one and thought about making something similar(I'm a machinist), and are they pricey these days.

The plans for the 14" barrels are on line, somewhere.  I should have a copy around on a computer here or at work if you can't find them.
