So I picked up this scope a couple of months ago from _ _ _ _
I finally powered it up and the red dot appears to be a frickin smiley face
It is not a solid red dot, it is made up of a aprox 15 little red specs and it looks like a smiley face?
Am I crazy or what!
I have to figure out how to get a pic of it and post it, blows my mind.......

I'll be making a call tomarrow on returning it

Looking at your 4 letter puzzle which may stand for our initials...Not sure if it's us, but we're here to help.  Also not sure what you're seeing as I've never seen that before on these scopes.

Either way if it turns out it's one of ours, indeed ring us up so we can take care of the issue pronto.

Ive never looked through a M845, but I had the same reaction when I bought my first aimpoint.  Finially figured out it was my eyes.  I have an astigmatism (sp?).   Is the dot the same when you look at it through your other eye or when someone else looks at it?

Have you adjusted the eyepiece focus, not to be confused with the objective focus? there are to focus adjustments.

Dude you picked it up a couple of months ago and just powered it up now?
Still scratching my head as to how anyone and I mean anyone can get a new NV device and not tear open the box ASAP to play with it.
NV arriving during the day is why god made interior bathrooms and garages with no windows

Hugh thank you

Now the important question, how to site-in once mounted?
Can that be done in the day? I see the objective cover has a small pinhole in the center.
Is standard procedure to power up sparingly with cover on to site in during day light?
I have no nite time range available.

How well does the unit hold zero with the weaver/1913 quick release mount?
My interim plan is to mount on a 10/22 mag for vermin hunting in MI.

Thanks,
Ric

While you can sight it in during normal sunlight hours using the pinhole, it causes unnecessary ware on the tube and tends to bloom some. It is best to wait till after sunset and before dark then use the pinhole and sight it in like a normal rifle scope.

I also just picked one up and even though I can hardly walk at the moment, I've had it out several times (in my yard) and testing various illuminators with it. Get to sight it in tonight and possibly bloody it tonight or tomorrow night. Very nice unit, seems as though it's built like a tank, already dropped it onto a wood floor from chair height while mounting and no problems or marks.

Now Maybe I can get some of my cheap ass friends and brothers to hunt at night, as this is my second NV system.
