I'm wanting to put together a a chest rig. Nothing fancy just serviceable. Some AR mags and a double pistol mag pouch. I've been looking at the mini mav and the regular mav. What is the size difference between the two? Grey Ghost has the MAV for $24. Would I just be better off going with it? I'm pretty new to tactical gear so be gentle and any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Gonna be tough to beat the MAV at $24. Cheapest you can get a mini-MAV is probably $50 (although Grey Ghost recently had woodland camo ones for $20-something, but they sold out quick).
Nice thing about the mini-MAV is it makes you be a minimalist. No extras. And it's also pretty low profile––wear it under a jacket or a hoodie if you go with single-mag pouches. I don't like bulky chest rigs, so I'm a mini-MAV guy myself. Waiting for my second one right now from Tactical Tailor. |
