Can someone please show the markings a MK20 SSR has for mil guns? Also, are both USA-made and Belgian made Mk17 and Mk20s seen frequently in the wild? Any use of the 6.5CM barrels on either? How much use are the MK20s and MK17s getting and what is the plan for the GSSR from Geissele on replacing the Mk20? Is it a complete replacement or will the Mk20 still be used for a while to come? |

Watching this 9-hole review video Henry mentioned that there were specific torque specs for the MK20 that mil units figured out through trial and error to squeeze out the most accuracy. If I had to guess it would be that consistency is key. I wish I would have checked my 20 when it was new but I did check my 17 when I first got it and 1 screw was over tight, the other 3 were varying degrees of too loose one took about 2 full turns. It would be easy enough to try different torque values and shoot a bunch of groups to see if it makes a difference. I follow the guidelines I listed and my 20 hammers. I swap between the 6.5 and 7.62 barrel regularly, it returns to zero and the groups the same. |
