I asked them if tooling up for an 18t run was even a remote possibility.

Their response:

"No.  Given the market, hard to justify making 100 cans and stop production of 1000 ranger 5 and 7s."

So take that how you want.  I then asked about the April 1st post thing just to confirm what I believed to be an April fools joke and they said:

"Yes completely a joke"

Maybe AAC is playing us.  Who knows lol

I went to a smaller jet (though I forget which one), paired with a Discarder. It runs pretty much perfectly. If I go down maybe 2 more clicks it won't lock on an empty mag.

A topic I haven't seen discussed much: Has anyone ever attamped to re-coat the receiver and laser MK17 markings?

Just saw the chatter about the 701 cans - reminds me of the time a few years back when I nagged the shit out of Surefire to do a run of Mk20 cans - they said they could, but they'd need a huge order to justify doing it.

Who’s got the inside scoop on when nightforce is releasing the other contract scopes. I’m dumb and have the 7-35 for my mk20.

I'm trying to find out if the mk20 SSRs were issued with any sort of UID tag like the mk17/16, but I've yet to see a picture of one in the wild with one visible.

They usually have the white sticker from FN, but that's not a UID is it?

Appreciate any help! This is an awesome thread btw!

I'd love to know too - I need the .mil contract 4-20 ATACR in my life.

It's a foil sticker.

I make them.

Out of curiosity, were there any functional or qc problems with your US SCAR? Or it’s just not clone correct?

No issues with the US scar, beyond the US marking on the top. Then I despise the even newer versions with the multi caliber engraving and the extra material in the upper receiver to help prevent full auto conversions. Lol

Ewwww, I just bought a NRCH 17.

Hopefully my MK8 CQBSS doesn’t look too stupid on it.

Truth, what I've seen is the time they switched to the multi caliber marking is when the block started. I have a US NRCH model marked 5.56 that does not have the material.

2024, still want a 5.56 conversion kit bad.

The SCAR 15P, which is a Belgian import, also has the autocarrier block which is disappointing. I’m sure it’s highly unlikely the SC autocarrier would leak onto the grey market anyway, but still.

I could be wrong but I don't think it will prevent you from installing a FA bolt carrier.  It would prevent you from attaching a lower with the sear trip installed.  Easy fix.  Remove the sear trip from the lower and install the standard ring spacer and it should work as a semi without major modification.

The added material is in the path of the auto carrier sear trip, as far as I can tell.

If it was just to block the auto sear (not sear trip), then they would only need material towards the front (near/at the auto sear) and not extended all the way to the rear. So, to me, it would seem more likely that since the added material extends all the way to the rear, it’s meant to immediately reject something at the rear entry, which would be the auto carrier sear trip.

But, I don’t have one, so I wouldn’t know.

Here was my thought with pictures when it came up before on FNForum.

Additionally, the 17S upper receiver was already designed to reject the autolower, but it did not reject the autocarrier. This new receiver would therefore reject both.

I was misusing the term trip.  I meant the sear itself.  I think that extended piece of material left in the upper prevents a lower with a sear installed from being able to mate.  It does not prevent a FA bcg from being installed.

Thinking about doing a heavy version of a the standard Belgian SFG CQC. I've got the base heavy gun, just don't know either of the flashlights nor mount. Anyone know? The one from the below picture or previous picture.

SR07-D-IT, DS00, DBAL A2, probably switch T2 to EOTech 552 or Elcan 1-4 since they use those too, SCAR version Rotex V can be requested now, just the flashlights and mounts.
