I chose a VIKING TACTICS MK-2 padded sling for my MOD1
Very nice comfortable sling, lots of adjustments. 
When I want it slung up tight, I adjusted it to be drawn to this position. 
To extend the sling, for shouldering or transition, you simply pull on the para cord tab to lengthen. 
Finally, transitioned to the back for carry.
