I have the same issue with my Raptor and my Max11/9. I attributed it to the open bolt. Yours is different. Maybe it is due to the shorter length. Maybe due to shooting indoors? Would like to know what you find out. My MAX11/9 shoots less gassy with the Coastal than the Raptor. Are you getting any gas out through the rear of the receiver? |

In my experience, all autos blow back gas. Check out this MP5SDvideo. Notice the smoke coming out of the ejection port. It's a presample gen-yew-wine HK SD. It was kindof windy that day so the smoke cleared away quickly. My M16 with HALO blows noxious gas back in my face- I can't breathe it and it really burns my eyes- it is so bad that I haven't shot it in nearly a year. When I do shoot it, I have to use a Battlecloth gas buster. PRI makes a 'gasbuster' charging handle but I couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of cash on a charging handle. My UZI with the MK9k isn't so bad- but that's a large volume can and I'm not sure if that's why or not. In the end, I think it's just the nature of the beast..... |
Well, I was able to try a different silencer today (Gemtech MK-9K). It was very nice. nearly three times the weight, but no gas in my face...... Now what do I do? Buy another silencer? Shit! |
