I  just returned from a local gunshow. I vendor tried to sell me some orginal HK mags slated as for 9mm. But I told him I have the 40sw and he told me it will work with the same mags.....?????? Is this true. I have never owned 9mm and not very familiar with ammo specs. Was this guy BSing? The mags were $45 each. Some curved and some straight.

Nope, he was bullshitting you.

I own a Vector V94 in .40 S&W and my friend has a real HK94 9mm. We had both our guns at the range and his 9mm mags would FIT into my .40 but they would not lock in because the 9mm mags don't have the latch on the back like the .40 mags do that hold them in... plus the .40 mags seemed "beefier" and there was some definite "rattle" with the 9mm mag going into the .40 mag well.

... well all that and you can't, or shouldn't, load .40 rounds into a 9mm magazine. I bet it would FTF like mad.
