I am looking for info on places that can cut and thread the barrel on my MKE 94P.

I've also looked at the new MP5 barrels thats for sale over on HKparts, any pros/cons using the MKE barrel vs getting a new H&K barrel?
Is there anything I need to be aware of as far as compatibilities?

I'm kind of a "noob" to the whole H&K style weapon world, so any information would be much appreciated..

Curtis at S&H Arms in Owasso, OK cut and threaded a three lug adapter on my 94P and welded a three lug adapter onto a 94K model. Quick turnaround also. The only negative to swapping barrels would be labor costs, cause this ain't your daddy's ar, it's a whole different animal. Good luck.

I've heard that company mentioned before but dont know anything about them, I am just afraid to send my guns off and have them stuck at some shop for months. Do you remember how much they charged you for the work on your barrels?  (I have a 94K that I want the 3lug adapter on too)

Thanks

ETA: Does anyone know how much money we are talking about to replace the barrel(s)??

Curtis is well known in the business and talking to him on the phone, you'll be able to tell he's been around forever, lol.  I believe both jobs ran about $250 each. Pressing a barrel would be that alone for labor.

Agreed. I had Curtis chop and lug my MKE 94P for me and I think it was around $150 or so plus the cost of shipping. S&H has been around for a while and they used to manufacture MP5 auto sears and do the conversions before the '86 machine gun ban. I think the turnaround time for my gun was about 10 -14 days. I believe that the way he works it, the barrel is not removed from the frame while he's doing the cutting and threading, so you wouldn't have any issues that could arise from removing the barrel. As far as the K versions go, he welds on the 3-lug adapter, so there's no rifling, but I've heard nothing but good reviews from the people that have had it done.  Word of warning; be sure you know what you want done before you get it. I had him just do the chop and lug, and recently called about getting it threaded for 1/2 x 36 so I could use either the 3-lug adapter or the 1/2x36 threads, and he said that the way that it was done, you can't go back and rethread it.

I would go so far as to say there a very few people in this industry with more HK experience than Curtis Higgins.  Bill Fleming, Fred Vollmer and Curtis Higgins (S&H Arms)  represented the best in the business of HK work back in the 1980s and 90s.  You are definitely good to go with him.

UPDATE: I sent my 94P in Thursday the 19th, and this Thursday I received a phone call saying it was done.
I mailed them payment and hopefully I will have it back towards the end of the week...

They were great guys to deal with, and as soon as I get the money for it I will send off my 94k to get the 3-lug put on..

Thanks again to the folks who recommended them...
