We discussed this a bit in TCBA_Joe's mp5 midlife upgrade thread. At the time, I could not find the video or link to the build pics. I found the video today. It would be awesome if someone actually made a mp5 upper for the m16 lower.

Cool ,I am sure it was fun to build and unique to own but what is the real point? The lower of HK's is already light weight and has easy to use controls and combined with the ease of switching out trigger groups I do not see this as an upgrade to the weapon.
With that said, I still want it. |

To me, to have a 9mm "upper" with the roller locked mechanism, would be such an upgrade to the AR-15/M16 platform. The blow back system is just not as smooth. I would love to have one of these uppers.
Scott ETA: Wouldn't it be cool if a MGI lower was used? Then you could do other calibers like .40 S&W or 10mm? |

I shot a factory Colt post sample 635 shortly after my m16 and UZI transferred to me. Compared to the UZI the m16/9 sucked IMO. I never ended up buying a 9mm upper. But I would definitely buy a roller lock 9mm upper. |
