Did they update these? Always thought they had that prong flash hider that sounded like a tuning fork. Saw one at the local dealer today that had a different style. Is this a newer one?

ETA - adding pics for reference. Notice the two different styles.

Are the flash hiders pinned and welded on the 16" guns?

I believe so because the barrels are shorter than 16" (don't quote me)

Thats been on the radar since Shot Show 2016-- yes almost a year ago.   The negative feedback for the tuning fork model was loud and Sig actually paid attention.  Birdcage style is newer.

The barrel on the carbines has always been 13.5" with pinned flash hider to make 16"

Shot show 2016 with birdcage FH pics.

I own a turning fork model, but its long since SBR'ed.

Recent MPX carbines have been released with tinny three prong flash hiders. This proved to be unpopular with many users. Going forward, MPX carbines will all have closed end flash hiders (elongated A2 style).
