How well does the compensator work?

Compensator or flash hider? The tulip flash hider is adequately effective on a 16" bbl but not as effective as some of the better makes.

Birdcage style flash hider is more effective.

The comp just makes the gun really loud&bright, IMO

I mean the compensator, not the Tulip FH.
