Hello everyone. This is my first post here and I must tell you that I was so impressed with MSAR's customer service that I had to join and tell everyone. I purchased my STG-556 sometime in October of 08 before all the craziness started so I only paid $1400 something for it. Which compared to prices today is a good deal. My initial impressions were very favorable. Accuracy was very good, reliabililty was also favorable, trigger was no AR custom trigger but not bad for a combat rifle either. If I remember correctly on it's first outing to the range it did jam twice in the first 250-300 rounds fired, which was not that big of a deal to me. On future trips out to the range the problem seemed to get worse, especially if I fired alot of rounds non stop and  the tempature increased the failures would increase. About 3 weeks ago now I took it out tho the range and it wouldn't even make it through 1 magazine without multiple serious failures to eject. The FTE's were so bad theat the stock was getting big chunks of plastic blown out the front of the ejection port. Here's where the good part comes in. I called and talked to Dave Robertson who asked me what the last four of my serial number was and when I told him he said that I need to send the rifle to them. Apparently it was an older version of the rifle with the forward assist and needed some updates. They recieved the rifle and in 3 or 4 business days they had it back to me with a new stock on it and 2 free magazines. A 20 and a 30 rounder. I took it out to the range the day I got it back and fired 250 rounds as fast as I could change magazines and pull the trigger. Number of failures 0. I have since fired an additional 200+ rounds with the same result. 0 failures. So with about 500 rounds out of the updated version it is still going strong. Those guys at MSAR really took care of me. I can't fault anyone for something as long as they make it right and MSAR certainly did.

Good to hear and thanks for sharing!

It seems like BAD NEWS spreads like wildfire and GOOD NEWS is treated with skepticism...  True in ANY industry & product line.

Always good to hear about Customer Service getting done RIGHT!

Yeah, the older ones went through a series of upgrades.  Deceptively easily rifle since it's so easy to field strip, but it's not an easy rifle to produce.  MSAR has, it would seem now, worked out every design issue and now we just have to worry about the stray rifle here or there having some production issue.  MSAR though is working constantly on the QC side of things now as well though and those problems are becoming less and less frequently reported here.  I would say that this forum is "the most popular" website for STG-556 owners by far right now so if something goes wrong we tend to have people come here to ask for help with it. I've seen everything so far and everything I've seen leads me to judge the STG-556 as a great rifle. I have high confidence in the STG-556 and MSAR.

I'd like to see some pics of that.

MSAR kept the old stock with the chunks out of the ejection port. Maybe they can take a pic and post it if they didn't throw it away. On a side note I would also like to thank Keith and Randy from MSAR they really took care of me. Great product, Great customer service. You can't go wrong with their rifle.

Glad to hear your STG-556 is up and running reliably.  My rifle is currently exhibiting the same trouble and is over at MSAR for repair.  I agree with you that Dave has been fantastic to work with and I can only they are able to get mine up and running as well.
