[ARCHIVED THREAD] - MSAR compensator

How effective is the MSAR compensator as opposed to the flash hider. I am interested in using it as a three gun rifle. Thanks

I've only shot about 500 rds so far, but to me it's just a 5-slot birdcage that looks a little different. The muzzle really doesn't come up much at all, but a real break would probably be better for racing.

I'm currently using the STG-556 for 3-gun matches and it can hold it's own compared to high dollar AR-15 race guns. My 20-inch barrel has the factory ported comp and it actually works to a degree to keep the bore on target. It's not a Miculek or Bennie Cooley purpose made comp, however, I don't believe there is that much barrel jump with this rifle while rapid shooting.
