Need to get the E4 rail. It will give you more real estate for your MBUS. I actually had the factory optic - I just bought the MSAR 9" rail. I got it for $50-$55 new - I think the place was closing them out, as they no longer list MSAR stuff on their website. I didn't want to spend that much. I'm fine with the rail I have. After I sight the magpul sights in, I probably will never use them again. I have a PS90 with an Eotech, and it has always worked. It's basically just a backup backup backup sight. I almost didn't buy them - but when I didn't get the battery free RX30 - I just wanted something that would allow me to keep the gun in action should I have a power failure. |

Well, the dot does washout in my home sometimes. And, for me, in a CQC situation - looking for that tiny dot takes longer - especially indoors when the dot isn't as broight.
The eotech reticle, being larger and brighter, is faster to pickup for me, personally. I REALLY wanted to get the RX30 - and I even ordered one. But after a month, I called the place. I was told 2-3 weeks. When I called, I was told it would be April at the soonest before I'd get it. I then cancelled it. I figured if I liked Tomac's, I'd find one someplace else where I could get it sooner. |

Curious - why did you pass on the RX30? I've been considering one for my FS2000 after reading Tomac's thread and his opinions. There's a *lot* of personal preference involved when selecting an optic. Like beretta-neo I really like the Eotech's circle-dot reticle and that's what I ran during my carbine classes last summer. However, I don't like the relatively poor battery life, how slow it is to adjust the brightness (Eotech is working on a rotary-switch version) and the relatively large number of reported problems. I'm very much into KISS setups (the more KISS the less there is for me to remember under stress and to go wrong) and you can't get much more KISS than the RX30 (just pick it up and use it!). I ran the RX30 in another class and found it subjectively seems to be as fast to acquire and use as the Eotech's reticle (even my Eotech-fan instructor loved how fast it was) but I do miss being able to use the bottom of the Eotech's reticle as an aiming point at very close range. However, some don't like the simple dot reticle, lack of user-controlled brightness, objective lens tint or the risk of reticle washout under certain conditions ( YMMV). I'd rather run BUIS in case of reticle washout on an optic I don't have to fool with in any way (no batteries, switches or adjustments to worry about) than run BUIS in case of optic failure due to a bad battery, broken switch, wrong brightness setting, etc. Again, it's personal preference. The RX30 isn't for everyone but then neither is an Eotech or Aimpoint depending upon your particular needs and/or budget. Anywho, I'm glad I was able to loan one of my RX30's to beretta-neo so he could make a "hands-on" decision for himself w/o having to take my or anyone else's word on something. Keep us posted, beretta-neo!... Tomac |

I'd have to look at my email, but I think that is the place. It was the sight that was linked from the RX30 thread here - for that $382 price. They are REALLY back ordered. Apparently the hold up is trijicon, as they claim. |

Keep us posted, beretta-neo!... Tomac Once again, thanks for helping with all my endless MSAR and optic questions :) Yes, an optic preference can be a personal choice. My 1st experience with a red dot type optic was an Eotech - and I've had one for 3 years on my PS90. I do find that when I activate my XPS with the up button - the brightness it comes on at is brighter than on my 511. On my 511, I have to crank up the brightness everytime I turn it on. I think there is less button pushing upon initial activation with my XPS. Too bad there isn't an XPS "AA" version - maybe one day. Anyway - I have heard from others that the 500-600 hr battery life is truer to reality for the XPS than the rated life of the other models. I can tell you that I get no where near 200 hrs of use on my 511 with the N Battery. But, I have a ton of N Batteries. The PS90 is really just a range toy (the gun I have the 511 on). If it was used seriously, I'd probably just drop in new batteries every month to be safe. I still prefer my PS90 to my MSAR just slightly. But, it's nice to have a larger caliber now. And, the backup sights are just for a SHTF situation if I ever had optic failure. |

Nice! My only concern is that by placing your rear BUIS as far forward as you have you shorten an already very short sight radius. Would a fixed (always up) rear BUIS help at all? Tomac I wish the rear could be mounted backwards too - that would solve that issue. But the instructions claim that only the front can be done that way. |
