It may just be the lighting, but the picture of the extractor looks like there is something odd about the extractor hook.
Have you disassembled the extractor from the bolt ? I had a 4th Gen. model (not E4) that had extractor problems. Dave had me check the entire extractor system for the O-ring, which mine did not have. He sent me a new extractor, spring, pin and O-ring. Problem solved. Apparently, MSAR thought it could work without the O-ring, and found out it could not. |

Make sure first that you have the new style extractor as Tomac shows in his post above. Just because you have an STG with no forward assist does not mean you have the new extractor. From what I've been told Dave believes the new extractors were installed around the 68xx serial number.
