Has anyone out there tried any kind of compensator on a MSAR, as opposed to the factory choices ???

I know this would increase the blast effect in your face, but I'm looking to tune my E4 to be a competetive
3-gun rifle.  The AR's I use for competition all have comps of one kind or another and they do really make
a difference for quick follow-up shots and double taps.

I'm really digging this rifle with PMags.  Way to go MSAR !!!!   Keep up the good work Dave.......

I shot one with a factory compensator (ban state compliant) Didn't make a whole lot of difference due to the already marginal recoil. I'd say a really high quality comp might be more effective. I'd like to try an AK-74 style brake on one someday.

Comps should be banned.  BTW, I love my tulip FS.

Thanks for that great input.

I think the Tulip FS is about as effective as a Phantom FH.  Still a little bit of flash at dusk, but mostly contained to the shape of the FH exit.  Reminds me of a blowtorch for a few milliseconds in shape and size with each shot.  Though a Vortex would do a better job, I like the tulip shape from a cosmetic and traditional standpoint, and it keeps flash from getting up into the shooters line of sight.

I'm not interested in flash hiders, I'm looking for compensators.....recoil reducers.  I know that recoil is not much of an issue with these rifles,
just trying to get the most out of it that I can.   You can drive any car down a drag strip, but the one that goes the fastest is gonna win !!!
