Anyone have any of the latest info on the Coharie MWS? I know its slated to be released soon like it has been forever. I know its supposed to have around 5 stock and handguard designs, cost under $500 with $125 caliber conversions. Anyone have new pictures or any new info on it?

If it's anywhere near the $500 price range and shoots reliably, I will buy one.  I just don't believe any of this will happen for $500.

I found out about this weapon on Todd's website a couple years ago. It looked more like the G36, and as time progressed,

it is has diverged considerably from the german gun in appearance due to obvious reasons. If it was reliable and $500,

it might be a good civi spec carbine, but until then, we will see... For everything that he is, Todd has good ideas like the

SP-10, but the execution is sometimes less than perfect.

Like I said thats still a preproduction gun. And there will be different stock and handguard choices. For the price and if its reliable its very exciting to me.

I think it looks pretty decent, and if Todd's projections are correct, it could be inexpensive enough to compete with lower

end AR rifles. It is a good idea to develop and market a rifle in this price niche that is currently only filled by the Kel Tec Su-16.

Unlike the various legacy platforms, it uses newer materials like plastics mated with a very reliable piston driven operation.

I don't expect it to be as tough or refined as the SCAR, but for its intended purpose as a civilian/LE carbine, it could be a

successful product if the execution is better than the past.

And as many people know, the Su-16 is a very tough little rifle. Ive seen people shoot them TRYING to break them and it doesnt happen. So if this is as reliable as the su-16, thats alright with me!

That prototype is definitely ugly, but if it has other furniture options, it could look acceptable. I vaguely remember this

thing replicating the look of the G36 in its early design stages, and it looked very cool.
