Trying to decide on a suppressor. I have a octane 45 but want something more dedicated. What would y'all suggest? I've been looking at the gemtech viper and like the locking ring mounting system, I've also been looking at the bowers cac45.

Generally speaking, not many people have a machinegun, perhaps thats why you haven't gotten any responses.

Anyhow, I can only offer my feedback regarding the M11/9, i.e. 9mm. I've shot it suppressed with a max11 upper using an Octane 9, Mystic and CAC9. I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet it was with the Octane; the downside was how much gas hit me. The Mystic also did quite well, but again there was a lot of gas. The CAC9 was considerably less gas and to me sounded about equally as quiet with a lower tone. I'm waiting on the stamp for a VERS 9S though, which is like the CAC9 but a little shorter and if I recall correctly has a different baffle stack. I haven't shot it yet but I've heard really good things about how it handles fullauto 9mm.

Another CAC9 owner here. The can works well due to its volume but the open bolt MAC's are louder than closed bolt MG's so I pretty much quit running it on the MAC.
It has seen more use on the M16/9 or the 300 BO.

The AIMS mount system Bowers offers is nice tho.

I've got a Bowers CAC9. I've had it for about 12 years and been happy with it. It does tend to vibrate loose if not tended to.

Is it vibrating loose a nonissue for you? I thought there would be more love for the viper with it's locking ring and sonics look. I am kind of surprised. I also ran across the Thompson machine sg-2 last night it might be another contender.

I own a CAC45 that is used primarily on my M10/45. It's a very stout can and fits my full auto sound reduction bill quite nicely. I will also add, the folks over at Bowers are good people. The Hippy and Dorothy will bend over backwards to make their customers happy.

Another vote for the CAC45. My friend and I were gonna get vipers, then the whole outback 2 fiasco went off and we washed our hands of anything gemtech. I also run my tirant on it every once in a while, but the CAC really is a more appropriate can.

if you run the Mac at stock 1100 rpm, you need the big can CAC45.   If you want to run the lage setup with a much slower ROF, the Octane 45 would probably work.
