How many people here own a full auto Mac 10 or 11? If you had to do it over again would you get a different weapon? What are some of the pros and cons?

Thanks for input.

I recently got an M11/9 for $3K, added a Lage MAX-11 upper and lots of extras. For less than $4K I now have an SMG every bit the equal of any other (including the UZI, IMHO). Even the magazine issue is resolved by the Recon Ordnance metal mags to replace the less durable Zytel OEM mags. The M11/9 is by far the best bargain out there in Class III.

You can see pics of my toy here.

If I could do it all over again, I would've stopped buying food and bought all the MACs I could.

I just bought a M10, my first.  No down side.

I just picked up my first full auto (mac 10/9mm) and I love it. I plan on buying a Uzi someday but the macs is such a blast to shoot I can't see myself regretting it or ever selling it. The mac 10 is not a piece of art but its a lot of fun and at $3000 its the cheapest full-auto around.

Here's my mac10/9 pimped up with Practical Solution's uzi mag well, mini-uzi stock, and autowerke's side-cock upper.  Runs great.

MAC-10 is part of any serious collection. Not a lot you can do with it, except hose down the berm from short range.

MAC-11 is nearly useless. at over 2000 RPM shooting a .380 cartridge, that gets boring pretty quickly.

What I would recommend is a SWD M-11/Nine. Therse can still be had for under $3K, and with a MAX-11 upper, are a really nice deal. I am really shock these guns have not run up to $5K or so already.

I just go my M11/9 a little while ago. I like it as a slow fire MG . and yesterday I put the stock bolt on it with a thick buffer  (best guess 15-1600 rpm) . due to the stock and comp on my gun it had very little rise , but was still nearly un controlable . I put the slow bolt (600rpm) back after a few quick mags. it is nice to be able to go back and forth at will . I also can't wait for the Lage .22lr upper.

MAC 10/9mm here. No regrets and the only complaint is that zytle mags don't last very long. Some day I'll have an Uzi mag conversion done.

M10/45 here

No need to slow it down. It's great as is. That and a can, and you're good to go.

I've got a SWD M11/9 that I got in late 2001 for $950 - absolutely love the gun (especially since it's nearly tripled in value since I bought it).

Also have 2 x PS M10/45s at my dealer that I will pick up when I return from Iraq.  Why two - well, both deals were just too good to pass up ($2.6 and $2.7K respectively).  Haven't shot either of them yet, but have shot this same model before - lots of fun.

One piece of advice - if you're gonna get a MAC, you should seriously consider getting a can to go on it.  Without a can, it's pretty easy to get a finger or hand in front of the muzzle if you're not careful.  I have a Bowers CAC 9 on the SWD gun and it works just fine and lets me shoot without hearing protection - pretty cool.  I will probably get a single GEMTECH can for the pair of PS guns.

My first MG was a MAC 10/45 with a two stage silercer. I sold it a few years later.  I've also sold a mini-uzi, two M16's, an M14, a M11/308, an MP5 and an HK51...  The MAC10/45 is the only one I really miss.

( I still have one M16, that one I will be buried with :)
