I bought some mags for 6 bucks apiece, the guy told me that some of the tabs are broke but still work. He said alot of guys buy these to refurbish. Just grind the remaining tabs down so the bottom of mag is flush, cut&bend new tabs. Has anybody done this before, any advice/tips, or do you just grind and bend, like the guy said? Thanks

I've never seen that done, but the old adage is, if it aint broke, don't fix it....

If the floor plates don't fall out while in use, I would leave them as is, My .02

The only good way to "refurbish" these is with 100 MPH tape.  You can't bend the aluminum on mags because they've been heat-treated, and if you bend the aluminum, it will crack and break.

The Israelis did cut the bottoms off of some of their mags and fabricated aluminum floorplates that were bolted on from the sides.  It reduced the mag capacity to about 27 rounds.  Of course, there isn't any source for the floorplates, so you're on your own.
