Everyone and their brother makes a magazine extension for 870's with a wide variation in prices. I've looked at quite a few of them and the Wilson Combat unit seems like a good deal at $45. A lot of the other are $75 or more.
What magazine extension are you guys using? Anyone have a problem with Wilson's extension? |
| The one I personally like best, of the ones I've tried, is the Wilson / Scattergun Tech. The only problem I've had with it is finding a mag tube clamp that fits with it. I know, a lot of people say you don't need one with this extension, but I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. I'm not worried about the extension itself, so much. The thing is built like a tank. I'm more worried about damaging the threads on the gun's mag tube if the extension gets whacked on something. The difficulty in repairing a damaged mag tube is pretty much the only thing I don't like about the 870, though, in all fairness, I have yet to actually damage one. |

Is the Wilson mag extension an odd size? Seems like most of the clamps out there would fit with a little engineering. Where's the cheapest place to get a Remington extension? On my last 870,I used a Choate Machine extension and it worked fine. |
