I remember reading this somewhere, but I can't seem to find it...

Can MSAR STG mags function in an AUG A3?  I seem to remember that one gun's mags would work in the other, but I can't recall which was which.

Thanks!

If I recall there was an issue. I think I tried it a few years ago and either found the MSTAR mags tight in the AUG magwell or the other way around.

Exactly...I remember one worked in the other, but not the other way around.

If you want them to work you need to shave/sand this hump all the way down till it fits:

Thanks!

Now I have to decide whether I want to get rid of my E4 and STG stock, and all the goodies I have for it, while keeping the STG mags for when I get an AUG.

That's what I remember - you have to file the mags to fit in the AUG. It was a bit problematic. So  I just went NATO and use USGI mags now.

Not trying to derail your thread, but wasn't MSAR working with you to try and make up for the 55 mags they stole from you? Thought I remember another thread about them possibly giving you a new rifle. Have they stopped working with you?

They're still "working" on the issue, but everything I'm seeing on their website is pointing to laying the groundwork for more excuses.  The reason I'm thinking about getting rid of the E4 is that I'm not sure whether I want to pull $2300+ out of my budget for a new AUG A3 CQC...I have a STG stock for the E4 as well as 6 30 round and 6 42 round mags for it, and I was wondering if the STG mags would fit in the AUG.  Though, if I kept the E4, I could always use the STG stock on the AUG!

My MSAR mags fit my AUG A3 without any filing. They do fit much tighter, but still drop out when mag release is pushed. And they feed just fine for me.
