I was approved June 27 and my dealer still hasn't seen the forms.... WTH is going on? Last item I did was like a week but it was a form 1.

Is this common now - I mean almost a month for them to mail?

Sounds like that is an issue with your dealer.  My dealer, which is local, filled out my forms with me and then put them in an envelope for me to mail. I trust myself more than the dealer to get my paperwork out on time.

He's saying that the ATF approved the form a month ago but the dealer hasnt received it yet.

It has nothing to do with the dealer.

I cant respond OP to your situation, but this is why a form 4 makes me nervous....its a pain in the ass to go through all of this, but its even more of a pain in the ass when another set of hands has to be involved

It does seem like it is happening more and more but that is just my impression from reading on here.
If I remember correctly, the ATF has 30 days to get the form to the dealer once approved.
If it has not shown up by then you can request a certified copy be sent.

Would a certified copy be as good as the original to own and possess?

Legally yes.... But you don't get the stamp you paid for.
