Lately ive been reloading ALOT of ammo and want to get into making my own battle packs. Any suggestions from you guys? We have a food saver machine and figured I could use that to seal ammo into that I have in new cardboard boxes from Midway.

Make sure to get the heaviest bags you can and be sure there are no sharp edges on the contents.

Remember, regular battle packs have the ammo loaded into cardboard boxes.

As lew says, watch them corners!

Alright thanks, I planned on prolly fitting only 100 rounds or so, 20 rounds per box, 5 in a straight line.

If you're sealing your own, I'd consider vac sealing them in a single layer with no cardboard.

Kinda like a flat pack;  they should travel easily.

Single layer, no cardboard.

For storage...in boxes.

For travel...Single layer, no cardboard.

Welcome to the site!  Get some heavy mylar bags and store ammo in very heavy paper.  Staple paper shut on about 20 or so rounds and stack em up.  Use fishing line or string if staple is a no go.

I should add that I have used heavy duty wax paper with good results as well.  I use heavy paper now.

Why limit yourself to plastic?

Put the ammo in a #10 can. Some churches have them, especially if they have a good sized pantry. (Mormon churches especially have these a lot, or have access to one... so, if you have any Mormon friends...)

Put it in a bag too if you want, then put it in the can.

Get creative.... spray the can with GunKote...

Shower pan liner and adhesive. Basically PVC sheet, flexible and strong. The adhesive chemically binds the PVC, same principle as in your plumbing. Waterproof and airtight forever. Buy it by the sq. foot at any hardware store.
