Currently I have a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm that I would like to use with one of my suppressors, anybody know where I can find a threaded 13.5x1LH or even a 1/2x28 barrel? I can't seem to find one anywhere.
Thanks

You should be able to get one from S&W for pretty cheap. Give them a call.

ETA: I believe they are the same Barrels they use for their "Spec-Ops" M&P 9mm, 13 1/2 x 1 LH Thread. I think they were going for $70-$80 Bucks.

I have a factory threaded barrel on order from S&W.  They are 13.5x1L and run about $100 shipped.  I think they are part # 392560000

I just called Smith & Wesson and they are out of stock until at least September. Anybody know of another souce for barrels?

I got mine from S&W.  It was $85 shipped to my door IIRC.  To be honest, I'd wait an extra month or two to save that kind of cash.  Every other M&P threaded barrel I found was at least $150 more.

I have a Storm Lake barrel inbound for my M&P 45 (Osprey) and my M&P9Pro (Trident).  They are spendy, but the ones I've seen are high quality.

I have been on the S&W back order list for over a month.

I call every week or so they are unable to give me any time frame.

I don't really care since I'm looking at November or so until my form 4 is approved.

The "dealer" price for this barrel is ~$66 shipped  I heard

the part number is 392560000. i think it was like $85 shipped for me. just tell them you need a replacement bbl for your mp9 spec ops. be prepared to wait a bit. they wait till they get enough back ordered and then they make what they need. i ordered in june im looking at getting it in late aug according to them.

Due to the price of aftermarket barrels I am just going to get on the back order list at S&W. Thanks for the advice everyone.

wow, I called S&W a few days back looking a 9mm threaded barrel for my M&P 9c. Guy on the phone said they made a batch a long time back, for a special order, they are long gone and they are not making any more. Now I'm confused.

Hang tight, they will be making more. They'll have U.S. standard threads instead of the earlier 13.5x1LH threads.

As an FYI, GEMTECH sells threaded, factory M&P barrels (and, yes, unfortunately everyone's out of the 9 and 9c barrels right now as well). They're a little more expensive, but we gauge them for suppressor use and include a thread protector.

I've been on the backorder list since early June,  Do you have any insider info as to when they will actually have more.  Also are you 100% they will be 1/2-28?

Thank you

I just called the customer service number and gave them the SKU #

I'm anxious to see which thread pattern these new ones will have.  I hear they may be 1/2-28 instead of the metric ones

Just got off the phone with S&W

M&P threaded barrels are shipping NOW

Mine is in the shipping dept.
8/17/2010 11:24:52 AM EDT
[#22]
As FYI, the ones they're shipping now to fill the backorders are 13.5x1, the ones originally made for the B&T suppressors.

The next batch (that GEMTECH will have for sale on the GT webstore) will be 1/2-28 and are going to production now, and should have a different part number.

Nice job on the website.  Are you going to offer a threaded barrel for the M&P Pro?
8/19/2010 2:30:00 PM EDT

Pro's weren't in the plans - the first ones available from GEMTECH should be .45acp and 9mm full size M&Ps, then M&P9C and 45Cs and something else I can't recall right now.

Does it have the step?

I got the TT thread protector on it seems the threads were just a little tight.  I put some MOLY grease on the threads and took the chance of the whole thing.

After a few times it now goes on easy.  The TT thread protector does tighten down on the very front of the barrel not the shoulder so there is hope if the TT protector is made like the pistons of the cans

its hard to see but there is a small gap betweent he back of the thread prot. and the infamous shoulder
8/25/2010 1:06:25 PM EDT
[#36]
I'm sure mine has a gap, but i bought cap for $5 when YHM had a sale last year, the cap won't go on more than a thread on my Sig in the same thread pattern

I just got my 13.5x1mm LH piston and it doesn't cover all the threads when I screw it on.

Is this normal?
