Ok, gonna run out today and pick up another rimfire can. This is what they have in stock.
I really wanted to go lightweight this time around, but there were no GM-22's or 22-A's around. So stainless/dippable looks like my only option. Price is almost a wash. Element is a bit lighter with a smaller diameter. Mask is 5.7 rated. I dont think the Surefire is, but i dont see my self shooting 5.7 anyways. The Surefire looks like it'll get "stuck". Any thoughts?? |

Quoted: Those baffles look like they'd need to be pushed out with a tool. I'm guessing the baffles may get welded to the tube after X amount of rounds. I think some users experiences this early on with the 22-A. The Element 2 baffles will (in most cases) require a tool to push them out as well. Is that a major consideration? I own the Mask and have an E2 in jail, but if I had to pick one, I would tradeoff weight for the ease of serviceability of the Mask. |

I own a mask and element 2. Both sound great. The element has an advantage when it comes to weight, but the mask is easier to get apart and clean IMO. Which is the most quiet? I have an E2 in jail... Been pondering on the Mask but I'm not a big .22 shooter. It will be my first .22 can and from videos seems really quiet. I haven't seen much on the Mask. |

I like my Mask as I have two, but I really like my Axiom as well.
I don't have an E2, but I can say that neither the weight of the Axiom nor the Mask has come up in my mind when shooting on my 22/45. The weight difference while on my 10/22s is absolutely a non-issue, esecially while on a bench. |

really? have you ever shot an E2 to make that decision? if so why would your buy one? Quoted:

Because variety is the spice of life? Because I have shot one and economics finally made sense to add one to my collection? Because I have unshielded K-baffle cans and know what it's like to disassemble them? Because I have shielded baffle cans and I know how easy it is to disassemble them? Because there are other aspects of the E2 that appeal to me besides serviceability? Because a preference for one can is not a condemnation of another? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I haven't shot them back to back so I really couldn't say. I just brought the mask out last weekend and it literally has zero FRP on a pistol. I was very happy with the sound. Up until now I usually shoot my spectre 2 on everything because I can let it go for a while in between cleanings, but the shorter length and better sound (IMO) of the dead air will have me grabbing that can instead now. Knowing in the back of my mind that cleaning the element 2 is a PITA makes me not shoot it as much, but I'm lazy when it comes to cleaning suppressors. If I had to guess I would say the sound difference is splitting hairs, but the weight difference is there. I think it comes down to ease of cleaning vs weight, and not really sound between those two. |

He said he would trade the weight for ease of serviceability. The sound was never mentioned. No one has denied that the E2 sounds good, but it seems that most people prefer easier to clean vs a couple ounces lighter as long as the performance is similar. |

Shameless plug with some smart ass comments... Element2 is defiantly at the top of the heap, super quiet, no FRP, no accuracy issues, easy to use and stainless baffles. It takes longer to clean, 10 whole minutes max so for some it's a deal breaker as they want it to take 5 minutes. If it takes longer than that you are unnecessarily cleaning and creating more work for yourself. Other major issue is it's not 5.7 rated funny thing is there must be way more 5.7's in the wild that users shoot than anyone ever thought, especially full autos! Truth is most "5.7 rated" cans are not hearing safe regardless and is a moot point as people talk about them but you never really see them in use. I'm sure everyone on arfcom has at least 10 of them and 3 in FA and will correct us but that's what we see. Our .02 |
