I want an SBR for my next purchase, but I have very specific requirements on it.

1. I would prefer to keep it fairly low cost, under $2K would be good.

2. If any modifications are needed, they need to be simple.

3. Actually quiet with a suppressor, so subsonic ammo is a must.

4. Needs to shoot relatively inexpensive and easy to find ammo.

5. Needs to use magazines that are easy to find and inexpensive.

With those requirements, I've been looking really hard at a carbine in .45ACP. Today I saw the Masterpiece Arms Defender and thought it might be a good option. I don't like the stock they have on their rifles, but they also sell a skeletonized stock that looks better. I just don't know anything about them. Can anyone give me a review? My thoughts on it now are that the weapon is inexpensive. It comes with a 6" barrel and all it would need is a stock. It comes in .45ACP, so that solves the ammo and suppressor requirements. It also looks like it uses grease gun mags, so mags wouldn't be hard to find.

If it is anything like the old Cobray M11/9, trigger slap on the the Masterpiece Arms Defender will make it miserable to shoot.  For $1800, you could get a KRISS Super V Vector in .45ACP (uses Glock 21 magazines) and all you would have to do is shorten the barrel.  Or get an IMI Uzi carbine with a .45ACP caliber conversion bolt and barrel.

Get a 45acp Olympic Arms upper and use it with a CNC Gunsmithing AR45 lower with M3 Greasegun mags. I'm waiting on my Form 1 on mine now.
