I have a Brazilian Mauser 1908 that I got from SARCO as a stripped action.

It had a lot of pitting, but still looks pretty good. Had it worked on by a local machinist who built a new barrel for it.

I am looking for a date of manufacture.

Can anyone here help me locate it?

Here is a picture of the serial number.

From what I've been able to glean, BERLIN marks it as being from the first contract delivery, between 1909 and 1911. The single letter italic 'n' would put it somewhere in the middle of those deliveries.

Nice.

More than 100 years old.

Hopefully still able to give some good accuracy.

Just need to get a new extractor.
