| I've been thinking of getting a mauser of some kind. Whats the difference in the 24/47 and the 48 Yugos? Thanks. Greg |

Not only receiver length, but also bolt assembly length are different among the common Mauser "lengths." The Czech (98, 98/22, 23, and 24) and German G98 series are all "standard" length. Their derivatives (Yugo 24/52, Model 98) are also standard. The FN and Yugo Mausers are "intermediate" length. The FN Model 24 derivative, the 24/47 falls into that class. Off the top of my head, the only "long" action Mauser I can think of is the German-made, Turk contract 1903's and their derivatives. |
