Is there any difference between what people call a Mauser and a K98? I am looking to get the rifle the german army used during WWII; which one would it be? And what would a good price on one be? Thanks. |
| You might look at a Yugo refurbished 98K, these are German 98K Mausers that the Yugoslavians captured at the end of WW2. The Yugo's removed most of the German markings, they stamped the receiver with their crest, I have two of these rifles and they are very nice for the money. |

There's half a dozen different Turkish mausers. I have one that started out as a WW I GEW 98. Pretty much a mauser is a mauser. Most Turks are the long rifles though. DJ

The M48s are a little different. The bolt is a little bit shorter. You can get into wordgames fast with these. This stuff is drying up at the wholesalers. Might check the auctions for some of those. Dennis Jenkins
