Gear gurus,
Do you think a Mayflower modular cummerbund could be adapted to the Banshee PC without too much trouble? I would love to have an elastic cummerbund option for the Banshee since I can mount all the pouches that I need without mounting anything to the cummerbund. I guess my other option is to see if a custom make can come up with something for me. Thanks, Matt |

The Banshee comes with a cummerbun that attaches to the front of the plate carrier with velcro and slides through the rear of the plate carrier. The cummberbun itself is 2 pieces, joined at the rear center with a 'laced up' elastic cord. You can adjust the elastic cord for larger or smaller abdomens. Each cummerbun half is 22 inches long by 6 inches tall, which includes 4 inches of velcro to secure to the front of the plate carrier. This velcro is loop on the exterior side and hook on the interior side. There is also 1 inch at the rear where the eyelets allow the elastic cord to lace, giving you about 16 inches max of useable PALS. The elastic cord allows you to seprate each end of the cummerbun by about 8 inches max, giving you up to 52 inches of total length. Some of that must still be able to secure to the velcro on the plate carrier, so you're probably looking at 48-50 inches or thereabouts for maximum circumference. If you obtain a longer elastic cord, you could further extend the reach of the cummerbun. You could also further extend the cummerbun on the front end through the use of additional extensions that have velcro on each end - attach to velcro on plate carrier, then to velcro on cummberbun. ETA: The cummerbun that comes with the Banshee has PALS on both the exterior and interior, as well as a pocket that opens at the rear and runs the full length of each half. |
