| Anyone know where to find 30rd Ruger mini-14 mags at a fair price? |
| I purchased Ruger Mini 14 and mini 30 twenty round mags from CDNN several times and never had to back order. I ordered 30 rounders once and some of the followers would jam. I returned the mags which they replaced but a couple of those jammed also. I get emails about sales frequently. |
| I ordered two 30 round magazines from Ruger. I had problems with both of them and returned then. Midway USA has the Ruger brand 20 round magazines now for $24.95. I am going to stick with the 20 rounders. Tapco has 30 round magazines for $15. I have one of those that is good and two that aren't. |

Ruger for 20 rounders, Thermold and Black Warriors for 30 rounders. I also have some USA 30 rounders from the mid 90's that I've never had a problem with and use them for range mags in the Mini's and AC556 as well. I bought black warriors back like 4 or 5 years ago, they would not work in the new mini14. I don't know if they've fixed that issue or not? It seemed like the bolt was to wide to go between the feedlips. I dremeled one mag to fit, it still was not reliable. Thermold 30. I actually like it, but for some reason the spring is way stronger than the Thermold AR15 30rnd mag. Most reviews of the thermold mini14 mag say the same thing, you can't insert a fully loaded mag with the bolt closed and often your mini can't strip the first round or 2 off the top. Load it with 28 rnds and it functions fine. Factory 20s work 100%. I have bought them locally and from CDNN. I've only got one factory 30 and I have never shot it. I think it came from CDNN. |
| I don't know about Black Warrior mags not working in your newer Mini as both my Mini-14's are factory folders as well as the AC-556F and they all work great. Usually whenever I loaded up my 30 rounders I only put 25 rounds in them since that was half a box and it was just easier to count them out that way so I am not familiar with the Thermolds having a really strong spring and the bolt not closing on a full mag. Out of all my stainless USA Mini-14 mags I only have one that wouldn't work in any of my 3 guns so it is relegated to the spares (salvage) box. |

CDNN is showing they are in stock right now. About $42. I see the "Factor" 30rds. for $39.00, those the ones you are referring to? Yes, new Ruger Factory 30s. I think $39 is the dealer price. |
