| What do y'all use to paint your guns/gun parts in? I need something I can buy or build that will fit in my garage and take up as little space as possible. It doesn't need to be an entire room or anything I don't think, just enough room to hang a 24" barrel or 15" handguard. I'm starting Cerakote and obviously need a place to do it. |

I just used a large cardboard box turned on it's side with some clothes hangers punched through to hang things from. |
| So neither one of yall worry about over spray or use any kind of exorbitant fan setup? Thats good to know. That wall cabinet looks like a good idea because it be out of the way when not in use, I like that idea since it will be in the garage. The cardboard box can also be thrown away lol. Anyone else have some ideas? |

I was thinking about just opening my garage and using a box fan to blow out the fumes, maybe 2-3 fans. Would that be sufficient?
I have looked on youtube but most what I found was people turning their entire garage into a booth with plastic and pvc pipe. I dont really want to take up all that space just to paint parts. |

Scale modelers use those large storage tubs turned on their sides. Some even install fans and filters. Makes for a handy and portable/storable unit. There's even videos for making portable media blasting booths out of these tubs. Search under model building and the like.
If you got a garage, I'd just use dryer vent hose attached to one of these tub designs with a fan to vent fumes out. Or you could just open the garage door and vent with a conventional house fan. That would depend on the concentration of fumes. When I built models in my youth, an open window would suffice for paint and glue fumes. If your going to do a lot of paint projects proper ventilation is a must. Otherwise your risking some serious accumulated health hazards and fire/safety hazards.

I use a large Paasche paint booth with dual exhaust fans. Link

$600 is a little steap at this point $387 here. That's about what I paid. Any narrower, and it becomes difficult to paint a lot of parts or uppers. |

Mine was in the garage with the door open and a fan blowing, with the bottom of the box opened up slightly to allow some air flow, top facing me. Used a very old box from a 20" CRT monitor. I'll probably set something more permanent up at some point, but that was sufficient for the pair of rifles I did last time. |
