Just got back from a range trip with the shotgun. Shot a few value packs of Winchester buck and slugs through the Benelli. The bullseye was offhand from 25 yds and the two close ones were from 50. The VP buck didn't pattern too bad, so it'll work in a pinch. I love the way this thing shoots. My light mount held up fine, and the versipack looks like it will do just fine as a shotgun grab and go bag. Anyway, here's a few pics.

Yea, there's just something comforting about that big 'ol hole they leave.

To answer a few questions, the sling is the 2P-TQA from Boonie Packer. It has a separate kevlar front mount made to go around the front sight of an AR. I don't think it is absolutely necessary, but it allows for a quick attach/detach and maybe a little more freedom of movement as the sling is mounted through a Yankee Hill ring through the stock swivel hole. The rear mount is from Blue Force Gear and is for an A2 AR stock. This setup will allow carry in the patrol position as well as just slinging over your shoulder. It also has plenty of quick adjustability and the gentleman at Boonie Packer is great to deal with. The light mount is one I made from .125 kydex. The light is held in with a fat o-ring on the back and the bezel up front. I couldn't find a production mount that was exactly what I wanted so I came up with this to get the light tucked in to that little recess in the fore arm. I goofed by putting it on the left. I was trying to avoid it being in conflict with the sling, but as close as it fits, it wouldn't have made any difference. It's a tad harder to activate with my index finger, but not bad enough to change, at least not for now.

Here's the mount a little closer and the front sling setup:

How well does the comfortech tame the recoil with the slugs?

I had a Nova and it beat me up pretty good.

Smooth bore or rifled barrel?

I'm gonna guess smooth... because the slugs are rifled.

It's a smooth bore, chrome lined. I haven't shot it past 50yds yet so I can't attest to accuracy at longer ranges. The stock seems to help a little. I've shot mostly value pack slugs, but I think they're a little weaker. The few Brennekes I've put through it kick pretty good, but not awful. I've thought of going to a pistol grip and wouldn't be overly concerned about losing any recoil reduction from the comfort tech.

I like that light mount, I may have to copy it for my 870 if you wouldn't mind?

Great shooting for a smooth bored slug gun.

It's amazing. I could shoot slugs all day.
