Well I sorta ended up with this shotgun and being that I don't bird hunt I was wondering If i could push into into another role, Unfortunately I can find out about nothing on It. I was wondering If the the Model 50 would take accessories for another more popular model, especially a Magazine extension, and send stock. It has only a 3 shot tube. Other wise I'll just have to look into a different shotgun.
Its a Winchester Model 50, need a little TLC on the finish also, but it works fine.

The buttpad looks a little wrecked, but looks like a nice hunting gun.
Trade it in for something closer to what you want. She's a good hunting shotgun, would be a waste to shorten that barrel and try turning it into a HD gun. Also, it might be good to have a birdgun even if you don't hunt, just in case you ever need to (I'm of the mindset that shit happens and being a little overly prepared is never a bad thing). My father went through a phase where suddenly he bought an old police issued Winchester Marine Magnum with 18" barrel, and suddenly wanted to hack down the barrels on every other shotgun in the house. We don't hunt but it would've been pointless. Not to mention detrimental should hunting ever become a requirement for said shotguns. |
