[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Model on Form 1?

I have several carbines I intend to SBR. The paper Form 1 asks for model and even though they are all AR-15's in generic terms, do I specify the manufacturer's name for each different lower?

Examples would be LMT - "DEFENDER2000"
Sun Devil - "SD15"
and Mega Machine - "GATOR"

My Daniel Defense Mk18 SBR came from the factory listed the model as a "M4 Carbine" even though the lower was marked "DDM4".

The general rule is to submit exactly what is engraved. AR-15 is not what they're after.

Technically, you can submit whatever you want...you just have to engrave it if it's different from what's already there. But, the ATF assumes everybody adopts the existing markings.

I have the name of my trust already engraved on the receivers. That is noted on the Form 1. I'm sending the paper work out tomorrow and just wanted to avoid being rejected.

I used a Spikes Tactical lower for one of my SBR's, their model designation is ST15, not Ar15.

I was disapproved for putting ar15 instead of gator on my mega lower.

Good to know. I used the manufacturer's name on each Form 1. In the mail Thursday, now the wait...................................
