| I am looking at getting an AN/PVS 22 for my Rem LTR. The rifle is mounted in a Bell and Carlson A2 stock. My question is regarding mounting options. I have seen some PVS units mounted on a Picatinny rail that appears to be mounted over the barrel, and I have seen some mounted on a rail (attached to the front scope ring) hanging over the top of the scope. I am not sure which mounting method is a better solution and I am looking for opinions and personal experiences with both methods. In addition, regarding the rail mount over the barrel; how is the rail secured to the weapon? I assume it is mounted to the stock and not the barrel. |

For a Remington gun, why not use the Remington MARS? I've got one on my XCR Compact Tactical. It bolts right onto the receiver using the same scope ring holes with no modification. This keeps it true to the bore and cantilevers the forward rail over the barrel.
FYI: the PVS-22 is restricted to Military and LE sales because of demand. However, there is a civilian version available, but this is not a sales board, so if you are interested, give me a call.

Also, we've heard and seen "other" threads on other forums that somehow discounted these rail systems because they "flex". Well, they better flex under recoil or they will snap! There is good reason the wings of a B-52 flex as well.  With that said, there is and will NOT be any change in zero when the extended rails that hold PVS-22 or 27's flex during recoil. These clip-on systems also are optically aligned so well , being a 1/2" high or low in regards to the day optics objective has no detrimental effect to POA/POI.
