Got a factory optic rail off EE to replace the factory scope . I need a optic with magnification at least 4x or better. My eyes are old and wore out. I have about 400 to spend . Any ideas?

The Burris TAC 30 is a good scope, I have used one and like it

Burris makes good glass, I'd probably take him up on his offer. I have a TAC30 and an XTR 7.62, and I'm pretty happy with both.

With that said, the Nikon M-223 series or Leupold VX-2/VX-3/VX-R series would be my first picks and they are all available in 1-4x models and fall within your budget, albeit some of the Leupolds wouldn't be under $400 without rings (i.e. most VX-3s are right at the $400 mark and some VX-Rs go above that).

Run A Burris XTR 1x4 5.56 reticule on mine. Works real well as a CQB red dot on 1x magnification and works great as a 300 yard range optic.

Here is my scope configuration, Burris Tac30 & Burris Pepr QD.
Work very for me up to 250 yrds and cost me about $370.

Ended up taking my Tac 30 off my FS 2000 and very happy with the setup. Now what to put on the FS? Would like more magnification for it . Is there any thing in 6x that is in my budget worth buying?

I have one of the new Weaver 1-5x24 Tacticals. It has everything you could want in a scope - including glass that is second to none.  Found it basically new on an EE for $500. You have to be watchful and move quick if you find one in that price range because I'm looking for a second one for my OTHER Bull-Barreled MSAR....

AWESOME scope.
