| How well does multicam work at night for camo? Any tried it in the field? |
|
I wore multicam during an OPFOR mission for some other unit. We went out at about 0100 and set up some arty and machine gun simulators, then kidnapped their roaming guard and the person in their admin tent. After some commotion when we starting firing the guns, they got a team together to come take control of the artillery and machine gun.
Right before they got to the machine gun, I hid in the woods with an M16 I stole from their guard(with blanks). They had a HMMWV with lights pointed right in my direction, and their team walked not three feet beside me without seeing me. Then I popped out after they passed me and shot them all with the blanks. I don't know about where you live, but in South Korea, multicam works great at night. |

My friend is trying to convince me that wearing all black is superior to any form of camo at night. I'm doubtful. well the "experts" will tell you that navy blue is better. in any event, it's dark out and hard to see....anything, so IMHO, think it's kinda a mute point. |

Not necessarily with night vision, no. My friend is trying to convince me that wearing all black is superior to any form of camo at night. I'm doubtful. Black doesn't work well at night. If there's even one star out, you will stick out like a sore thumb in black. Solid colors don't work as well as multiple dark and light colors, like those found in multicam. With moonlight and stars, multicam is one of the best. ACU works really well at night too. Pretty much any camo that isn't a solid color works well at night. |

Multi-cam works fine during the day. It works fine at night. If a camo, any camo, blends well during the day, it will blend well at night. When it is dark outside, your camo is also EQUALLY darkened.
Wearing black as night "camo" doesn't work unless there is zero light and if there is zero light, you could be wearing bright pink and no one would see you. :) |
