Nice.

You know, some people get rid of that bipod and metal handguards  You'll know why when you shoot it.

Buy a cheap set of Penguin plastic.   The metal handguards get friggen hot as hell.   I ditched the bipod on mine too, it gets heavy.

It's a crappy photo but this is mine with the OD penguin plastic handguards.

Blemished Penguin furniture sets can be had for $30.  I bought a set and could only find one small blemish on the pistol grip.

I bought two sets of the blems and can't find a thing wrong with them. Well, except for the fact that the buttstocks are shorter than the original foreign ones. I suppose I can just find one other compliant part to make up for it and use the original one...

With US made gas piston. hammer, trigger, sear, pistol grip, handguards and receiver, I'd have 7 compliant parts anyway, the buttstock was just langnaippe...

I am gonna go with the DSA 4 rail hand guards. Should I get the barrel cut down and threaded or buy a shorter barrel?

Gun Parts Guy doesn't have Penguin Stocks Anymore

I heard on FAL FILES that Penguin was bought out and not in the game anymore!

Sad if True!!

I used to like the plastic forends, but now I have a different opinion, and it's just my opinion, so let me run this by you'all---The metal handguards get hot allright, but they also dissapate heat rapidly. As stated above, a little automotive heat tape (Thermotec) on the inside where you hold on to them is good, but leave the rest of it alone to get rid of the heat. I know the Austrians had a good reason to use those handguards, or they wouldn't be on there. I may be wrong, but I bet that the reason they used them is that they wanted the operator to have a better idea just how hot the rifle was, and, it gets rid of the heat a bunch faster. What say the bretheren?

I use surplus bipod-cut Imbels. Penguins don't have bipod cuts (you will need them if you want to keep the issue bipod, which is ϋber cool), and IMO they are not as tough as imbels.
