I live in California where no AR-AK is  allowed

That's why I bought a kel-tecCA model with bull barrel mixed with AK-74 flash/brake, M-6 laser/flashlight, Eotech and some 5.56mm SS109/m855 backed by a Glock 21ACP 45 with +P golden sabers and serrated to the tip spyderco
p.s LOOK CLOSE AT THE KELTEC IT HOLDS ANOTHER 30 ROUND IN THE STOCK
This will work for me!

It's the closes thing to an AR15 here in California  same bolt  as an AR savage like barrel with Ak-74 gas tube and flash/muzzle brake
Like  I said it’s not an AR but it's very accurate dependable and super light.
I have shot anywhere from 1-3 moa even when hot, my Mini 14 and SKS can never do that.
I have fired over 500 rounds with no jam and works great during rapid fire. for all you that have ARs with 1/2 by28 get this www.bushmaster.com/shopping/brakes/mmt-0012a.asp

You will thank me later

Just an FYI, with the forward grip California considers that an assualt weapon.  From the CA DOJ website.

(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:

(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.

Why not just get a Mini14?  I know they are not as good or accurate as an AR, but you can hit man sized target at a good long distance with them.

Also AR's are allowed in California, you just had to of had them several years ago.

I have a Mini 14 and its no match
The tec is far more reliable accurate and does not heat up as fast

I love my mini 14 but the Kel-tec is superior in every way

I would think Mag issues. They are expensive and its hard to get reliable one, Now if it took AR mags...SWEET!

Got a range report? Ive been looking at them lately. I like rifles with pistol grips (I dont know why, just seems more comfortable) but I have heard some great things about that rifle. Ak reliability, great accuracy, and badass looks.

With a good scope nad the right shooter a 1-2 moa is possible

I shot a 3 moa at 200 yrds today! Using just an eotech and m855
I would say this gun is good out to about 400 meters

Yeah i love pistol grips

And yes as long as you dont shot the old wolf you will not have any problem and if you do keltec has a life time full warranty

Uggg... I truly detest it when people say that.  I had one gunsmith tell me that "he didn't believe in pinning flash suppresors" and that I should "move to a free state".  As if it's that easy or that rather than make the customer happy I should pack up and move so that he doesn't have to pin my FH.

I like the su-16,my only consern is how it will hold up over the long run,but they have been out there long enough that if they had any serious durability issuies they would have popped up by now.If I lived in cali, and wanted a .223 carbine I would take the keltec over the mini-14.

I know I have never had a problem with mine, I know kel-tec has a lifetime warranty.
It's a good little rifle I like it.

I rather have an AR but what can you do? Some people here said  that you can buy AR in California. I dont know I have fired over 120 rounds as fast  as i can fire. It got hot but the threat would be gone dont you think?

are you kidding me....honestly i hope you live in the country if you're using a 5.56 round for home defense.....you know how many walls that round will penetrate....how many lives you'll endanger....for me it's the good ol 12 ga. or 20 ga. w/ buckshot......in CQB you're gonna need a wide dispersed shot especially in low light/ unaware/ scared conditions...not a small precision shot where you may not even have time to aim thru your a2 sights....jmho
