After much anticipation my V53 pistol showed up today. I can see by holding this beast that it's gonna need to be SBR'd.  The welds are nicely done and the finish looks good. It weighs a ton! I see bare metal inside the receiver so I guess they didn't parkerize this one. The magwell is super tight...hope that loosens up some with use. The mag release is a bit strange compared to the AR...some new motor skills to learn here. Now I've got to figure out how to take it apart. Will add some pics when I get the chance. so far!

I picked up my SBR V53 about 2 weeks ago, and I have been very happy with it as well.  They are heavy. I have replaced the factory MP5 handguard with a HK 53 one; that has made the front grip a good bit more comfortable.

I tried to upload some pics to Photobucket but I keep getting the "error on page" message. I've tried using both Netscape and IE but no long. Where else can you upload photos?

The trunion of the HK53 and 51 is longer than the MP5 trunion since the overall case length is longer on the 5.56/7.62 than the 9mm.  So the receiver is longer to accommodate the longer trunion.  The distance from the front of the trunion to the handquard hanger is the same on all three guns: the MP5, the HK53 and the 51 style weapons.  So therefore, the MP5 handguard will fit on all three weapons.  But the correct handguard for the 53 and 51 is made longer on the rear so that it extends farther rearward and covers the longer area of the receiver.
