You got a link to one? How much modification was required? How is the fit of the rifle in the stock?

Tagged, I could use one for mine.

I got the stock used from a local airsoft store. Fits well into the stock, there's a bit of a gap between the action but not too noticeable. You have to clear the area where the action and magazine will be located and lots of fab work to bolt the rear lug down. The front lines up with the factory holes.

The bottom rifle is the .308.... I wanted a clone of it in .22 for practice.

Very nice.

Rhineland Arms (sometimes) makes a stock, the Leopard, that is very similar.

I have a Rhineland....Brand new.... Nice product but, I didn't like the finish and feel, that's why I opted for the airsoft stock instead... Looks and feels more like the AICS stock.

Good info. I have been waiting for the Leopard for 10/22 to come back in stock for a while. Not so much for an AICS clone or trainer, just something that looks nice and is not the same old 10/22 setup.

Such a fun project!  I did a "trial" one on an older model and a cheaper L96 stock.  It has one small metal section and lots of plastic

I also picked up a G96-D for my gun.  Had a friend/machinist make some pillars that will be devcon'd in place.  It takes a good amount of filing/dremeling but nothing too serious.  The "worst" spot is where the folder meets the main portion of stock.  There is one rear pillar (not one that gets a screw fortunately) that this needs to be relieved for.  I haven't got it back to my buddies yet to make sure it won't weaken this attachment too much.  The BIG plus to this is with some minor work real AICS skins work- all the holes line up perfect.

My original intent was to step by step.  the issues are all the "chassis" are very different.  The cheaper L96 required minimal work and I used one of the holes drilled already that fit the rearmost "pillar" on an older MKII.  Working on the G96 using my newer Savage with the longer receiver the rear most portion is becoming a PITA using the nicer G96 chassis.  Add to that Savage has changed the receiver dimensions as well as the size pillars they use and it complicates doing a tutorial.

The most important part is getting the action lined up with the stock/skins as best as possible.  This means paying close attention to: where the trigger will be, where the mag will be and where the bolt handle sits when closed.  Getting all of these to line up and work is the hard part.

There's definitely a lot of cutting and measuring to make it work. Different variations of the airsoft stock makes a difference on how it will fit. So making a step by step tutorial on a certain brand stock may be different on another. I eventually will get the tanaka version so it will be basically the same exact look and dimension of the AICS stock. For anyone wanting to do this conversion I would suggest getting the WELL g96 or tanaka version of the airsoft stock. These two versions is where the others copied from.

This particular version of stock L96 has the forward most factory magazine well. The .22 magazine goes in just infront of trigger guard you have to open it up to get access to the mag release.
