I have a Champion safe with an electronic lock. The lock works but has been compromised so I need it replaced.

Is this something I can do myself?  I think it will void the warranty if I don't use an authorized Champion dealer.

How much should I expect to pay for a new high quality electronic lock and installation?

Compromised? You can change the combo on an electric lock. Or are you concerned because all electric locks have override codes?
I'd call Champion. Doing it yourself would void the warranty.

I'm a little confused; if all you need to do is change the combination code you can do it your self.

I change mine frequently so as not to have wear marks on any of the keys that would make them stand out from the others.

What kind of keypad lock do you have?

IE: LG, S&G.....?

Question for the OP; how do you believe she actually got into the safe?

Oh yeah, you're that guy from GD. Sorry about that.

From what it sounded like, despite you thinking she didn't know the combo, she likely knew the combo. You would most likely be safe by just changing the combination. However, having a locksmith change it out for a mechanical one could be done.

Keep in mind though, there ARE computerized machines used to find out the combination on mechanical locks. They have to run for ~24 hours though.

Guys she found out the master code. I was not even aware I had a master code!!!

I cannot change the master code so that means I must change the lock.
