| I am going to redo the slide on my Kel-Tec P11 tonight and I need to know how far I need to strip thing thing to paint it. Do i need to remove firing pin extractor ect. or can I just tape them off or do I even need to worry about it. Thanks in advance. I am going to be using Dupli-color high heat engine enamel ceramic paint. I want ot see if this stuff will hold up with a little bit of use. I plan on baking it tonight as well any of you got a temp that might be good to use. Thanks |

depends. you can shoot the paint with the slide on the gun, just tape off where you dont want paint. of course the oil on the gun is going to cause paint issues later. the best, longest lasting is to strip the slide down, remove everything, media blast it, prime, and paint it. That will get you the longest paint life. that said, any paint is going to wear off in places. powder coating will last longest, but it will wear off eventually. |
